Daflower...Daisy + Sunflower

I used two different die sets from Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember® release..Stitched Daisies and Radiant Sunflower, to make a combo daisy/sunflower, which I call "daflower"...heehee!!...
I die cut the largest sized stitched daisy and used the stitched circle middle from the Radiant Sunflower dies for the center of the flower along with the stem and leaves die from that set.  I die cut the Simon Says Stamp "big hugs" dies, too,  and layered. I stamped the Leaves Background stamp with versa mark and clear embossed, then sponged with Simon Fog ink.  Here's a close up...
So cool to know you can combine the sets to make a slightly different but fun sunflower:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Hugs, Prayers, and Love

I LOVE this limited edition Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® stamp/die set by Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp, Prayers...had to make another card...simple in composition, but SO cool how a sentiment can SAY IT ALL:)...
I die cut the "prayers" and then stamped on it with versamark and gold embossed.  I placed the sentiment and heart stamps ON the card, and then put an acrylic block OVER them, adhering them to the block, THEN stamped with versamark and gold embossed, also.  Layered the die cut sentiment and adhered to the card.  Here's a close up of the shiny gold embossing...

CAS(E) this Sketch #142...You're in My Prayers

It has been a while since I played at CAS(E) this Sketch...oh how I have missed it!!  I had ideas for a few of the sketch challenges in recent weeks, but time just got away from me:)!!  Loved the cool, simple design of the sketch this week!!  I used a new set of stamps and a die combo from a combo of companies for Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® releases...Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp... Prayers.  Here's my card and the sketch...

I used some watercolors with the Simon Says Stamp Berkshire Border die.  I die cut the sentiment, then stamped the sentiment onto the die cut, and clear embossed.  I layered both the leaves and the sentiment...
I love simplicity!!  Thanks for the wonderful sketch, ladies at CAS(E) this Sketch!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! I have another card I simply made using this sentiment die...check back tomorrow:)!!Hugs!! Lisa

Sketch For You To Try #28...'Tis the Season

I just love the Reverse Confetti Leafy Confetti Cuts dies...the possibilities of these little leaves are endless!!  The Reverse Confetti Sketch for You To Try #28 is in it's final days for September, and I made a card for the sketch with some of those die cut leaves that I watercolored...with a Christmas twist...
Here's the sketch...I turned the card on it's side and changed the shape of the circle to a heart...
I don't know...I'm starting to get in to the Christmas spirit...I know it's only Fall...but sometimes I don't think it's ever too early to get started on Christmas!  I hand drew the white stitches with a white gel pen, and added enamel dots for some added interest on my heart wreath...kind of like berries.  I used part of a sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Easy as Pie stamp set, stamped with versamark and white embossed.  For the strip that goes across the sketch, I used a stamp from the Reverse Confetti So Stripey set!  Here's a close up...
FUN!!  You have a few more days to be a part of the challenge, make sure to check out the details over at the Reverse Confetti Blog, and hope you'll be a part, cause there's a PRIZE for the winner of the challenge!

"Don't You Think Daisies are the 'Friend'liest Flower?"

I love the movie "You've Got Mail"...the title of this post is a quote from that movie...and yes, I DO think daisies are the friendliest flower.  So what more perfect a flower to use to make a card for a friend:)?!...

I used the new Stitched Daisies from Simon Says Stamp (two die cuts for each flower) along with a sentiment, from Simon's Lots of Thanks.  I also used a stitched line die from the Simon Bundled Shapes dies, for the top and bottom of the card for a little added dimension.  Stamped and embossed the sentiment(LOVE this set of sentiments...several years old, but STILL one of my favorites!!) and clear embossed.  Here's a close up...
LOVE daisies:)....so much fun creating with them:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

A PUNCHED Thank You!

I was at AC Moore the other day with my 50% off coupon for my Tombow refills, and found the Thank You punch by Martha Stewart...never having seen a total sentiment in a punch, well, I HAD to have it...refills had to wait for another day!!  I now have scores of "thank you" sentiments on my desk in ALL colors, but had to show you my very first card...SO MUCH FUN!!...
I will say, the punch takes a bit of effort to punch...not for the weak...but LOVE having a smaller more graphic sentiment!!  I layered each of the words 4 times for dimension...loved the THICK LOOK, then popped up the black panel on the white textured card...

Hope you are having a great week...thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Solo Sunflower

A quick post today, using the super sweet, new Radiant Sunflower die by Simon Says Stamp!  This die would be great with the flowers solo, but I opted for a solo flower and stem!!  I am really having fun experimenting with watercolor...
I die cut the flowers THEN watercolored, but watercolored, THEN die cut eh stem with leaves...like yesterday's post...don't know why...just did it that way.  I layered both flower and stem,  I watercolored the background and added a Simon sentiment, then adhered (popped up the leaves) onto the watercolored panel.  SUPER FUN...this die is SO PRETTY...Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Watercolored Pumpkins

Watercoloring is so hot right now in card making...and although I'm not at all sure of what I'm doing, I can say with certainty, I'm having fun trying my hand at it!, and I really think the uncertainty is what watercolor painting is all about, anyway!  AND...if I can do it, so can YOU:)!!  I die cut the adorable Simon Says Stamp Stitched Pumpkins from the STAMPtember® release, then watercolored.  I watercolored the paper for the leaves BEFORE die cutting...why??...I have NO idea...just what I did:)!!...
I watercolored the ground onto the white card stock, but will say, using watercolor paints is so much easier and has a nicer look when used on watercolor paper.  I used an older Simon sentiment, then popped up the pumpkined panel on a white card.  Here's a close up...

Simon Snowflake Block Three Ways

The Snowflake Block die by Simon Says Stamp is beautiful!!  I have made three cards to showcase different ways you might think to use this die...
I did a silver and black shaker Christmas card.  Used a sentiment from a stamp set released last year.  Die cut and layered shiny silver paper, then die cut some tiny snowflakes for the shaker stuffings...

The second one, I watercolored a background with 2 shades of blue.  I die cut the block from super thick cardstock to make certain the snowflakes would hold on their own...
I popped up the top panel and used another Simon sentiment from Holiday Hellos set, stamped in versamark and silver embossed...

The third one, I opted for nontraditional colors...coral and browns ...
I used strips of paper, adhered to paper, and adhered a layered block over the strips.  I layered all of that on a colored card of the same color as the strips...
I think this die makes for some pretty cards!!  And did I mention FUN??!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
